97: Taja Sevelle, “Love is Contagious” (no.7, 1988)

…although, to be fair, so was the Ebola virus, and look where that got us. The video - which appears to take place in an open-plan loft conversion/trailer park/riverside idyll - makes not one iota of sense, but the song itself is so sweetly catchy, so evocative of summers past, that you may yet not care.
